Hi, Im Natasha, The founder of Kowhai Gifts,
Before anything else, I'm a wife and a mum to two amazing children who are my absolute world.  Family has always been at the heart of everything I do, and it's the biggest inspiration behind Kowhai Gifts.
Like so many parents, our life is wonderfully busy. Between school, work, sports, birthday parties and everything in between, I've lost count of the number of times I've stood at the school gate hearing parents say, "eek, I forgot to get a birthday present!" I've defiantly been that parent too, rushing to the shops at the last minute.
It got me thinking... giving a meaningful gift shouldn't have to be stressful.
The idea for Kowhai Gifts really began when someone close to me was going through a difficult time. I wanted to do something to cheer them up, so I carefully put together a gift box filled with little things I thought would bring them comfort and remind them they were loved. Seeing how much that simple gesture meant to them was something I'll never forget.
These moments got me thinking..
The more I thought about it, the more I realised I'd always loved making people feel special. Whether it's celebrating a birthday, welcoming a new baby, supporting someone through a tough time, or simply letting someone know you're thinking of them, I believe thoughtful gifts have a way of bringing people closer together.
That's exactly what I wanted Kowhai Gifts to be.
Every gift box is packed by hand  with the same care I'd put into creating a gift for my own family or friends. I spend a lot of time choosing products that I genuinely love or have tried myself. Many of them from wonderful New Zealand businesses, because supporting local is something that's important to me.
One of my favourite parts of this journey has been sharing it with my family. My kids love seeing new stock arrive, helping me choose ribbons, and celebrating every order that comes through. Watching how proud they are as they see me build something I'm passionate about has been one of the most rewarding parts of starting this business. I hope it shows them that it's never too late to dream, work hard, and create something meaningful.
